Our Vision & Values
People first. Possibility always.
Our purpose, vision and values guide how we support people, develop services and hold ourselves accountable.
Why Attainment Care Was Founded
Attainment Care was founded with a clear purpose: to develop supported living that truly centres the person, not the system.
Our leadership brings experience in social care, housing and community support. We have seen how impersonal services can limit people’s choices and opportunities, and we want to develop compassionate, transparent and collaborative support.
We are a family-led organisation committed to working alongside individuals, families, professionals, commissioners and housing partners.
Our Vision
A world where people with support needs live full, valued and connected lives — with support that empowers, not restricts.
We want people to live on their own terms, recognised for their strengths, with homes that feel like homes, staff who enable independence and communities that offer genuine welcome and connection.
We believe in empowerment over control, relationships over processes and partnership over paternalism. Our aim is to build support through co-production, dignity and equality.
Our Values
Our four core values — Dignity, Respect, Independence and Empowerment — guide how we listen, plan support, work with others and hold ourselves accountable.
Dignity
We recognise every person as an individual with their own identity, preferences and rights.
We protect privacy, listen without judgement and support people to make decisions about their own lives.
Respect
We treat people with kindness, patience and consideration, valuing their voice, relationships, culture and communication.
We take time to understand what matters to each person and respond in ways that uphold their rights and choices.
Independence
We support people to develop skills, confidence and greater control over everyday life, at their own pace.
We offer the right level of support, encourage informed choices and avoid doing things for people that they can do themselves.
Empowerment
We work alongside people so they can express their wishes, set meaningful goals and influence the support they receive.
We use co-production, accessible communication and positive risk-taking to help people pursue opportunities that matter to them.
Our Values in Action
Values matter when they shape everyday decisions. We aim to involve people in their own support, listen to families and advocates appropriately, develop a respectful staff culture and work openly with commissioners and professionals.
Our approach draws on relevant CQC guidance, SCIE resources and NICE guidance, including principles of Positive Behaviour Support and least restrictive practice. Attainment Care is registered with CQC for the regulated activity of Personal Care.
