About Us
Philip Sutton - Director
Philip Sutton is the co-founder of Attainment Care and an experienced leader in supported living and complex needs services. With a career spanning over 20 years in adult social care, Philip has held senior operational and strategic roles across both national providers and regional care networks.
Throughout his career, Philip has remained focused on improving outcomes for autistic adults and people with learning disabilities — particularly those who have experienced breakdowns in support, transitions from institutional settings, or a lack of person-centred care.
His leadership approach is grounded in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), autism intelligent practice, and safeguarding-first governance. He is a strong advocate for co-production, believing that services work best when built with the people they are designed for.
Attainment Care was created in response to the growing need for small-scale, high-quality alternatives to traditional models of care. Under Philip’s leadership, the organisation is developing a new standard for supported living in the Liverpool City Region — one that is values-driven, and rooted in the principles of dignity, inclusion, and meaningful outcomes.
Gerard Sutton - Director
Gerard Sutton, co-founder of Attainment Care brings extensive frontline and leadership experience in supported living, with a particular focus on supporting adults with mental health needs, learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours of concern. His work is rooted in the belief that with the right support, individuals can do more than just maintain independence — they can thrive.
Over his career, Gerard has supported vulnerable adults across a wide range of community settings. He is known for his commitment to delivering not just day-to-day care, but co-developing personalised support plans that prioritise dignity, stability, and long-term wellbeing. His approach reflects a deep understanding of how person-centred, consistent support can restore confidence and lead to meaningful outcomes.
At Attainment Care, Gerard plays a key role in building a service that bridges the gap between accommodation and truly empowering, values-led support. Working closely with housing providers, commissioners, and multi-disciplinary teams, he helps create pathways that offer not just homes — but purpose, structure, and real opportunities for personal growth.
Gerard’s leadership style is hands-on, trauma-informed, and grounded in mutual respect. Whether supporting someone to navigate complex needs, manage daily routines, or transition into more independent living, his goal remains constant: to deliver high-quality care that empowers people to lead lives they can be proud of.
